A Study of Convection of Water in the Cylinder Near its Maximum Density.

The report presents the results of an experimental study and numerical simulations of a convection in vertical cylinder of water, which are cooled. Investigated the effect of cooling rate on the flow structure in near water maximum density, and the influence of surface tension at the interface water-air on the formation of flow structure. The flow regimes are described, integral parameters are calculated. The essential role of surface tension on the interphase boundary in the formation of convection. Results of numerical simulation are compared with experimental data of the author obtained at water nucleation studying.
