Two-dimensional model of laser alloying of binary alloy powder with interval of melting temperature

Reporter: Knyazeva A.G.

The method of laser alloying for new materials creation is characterized by numerous factors that effect essentially on the result. If there is some clarification when pure metals and polymers are used, so a series of the problems appear when the powders of alloys and the powder mixtures from different metals appear in the technology. For example, titanium and niobium are characterized by different melting temperatures. It leads to metal spitting during powder mixture allowing with the help of laser beam energy. Meanwhile the preliminary meachano activation of powder mixture allows obtaining three-dimensional details obeying necessary properties and minimal porosity. In this report, the to-dimensional model is suggested for laser alloying of Ti - Nb alloy, made as a result of preliminary mechanoactivation of the mixture of pure metals. The model takes into account the porosity change, and corresponding evolution of equivalent properties and thickness of powder layer coated the Ti-substrate. Alloy melting is described in term of the theory of two-phase zone. The model was realized numerically.  When the temperature is calculated after second and following layer coatications, the possible quasistationary regime is taken into consideration. It allows refusing the temperature determination in total specimen explicitly.  This work prolongs the study published in [1,2].
